Preparing to enter Shabbat-A Meditation

I bring to a close this week of my life.

I bring to a close this week of work,
of striving to sustain myself and those I love.

I bring to a close this week of creating,
of bringing into life new forms, to add richness and beauty to this world.

I bring to a close this week of giving of myself,

of adding my part to aid in the repair of this world.

I bring to a close this week of stretching,

of attempting to awaken,
of working towards being more loving in my actions and relations.

Forgive me for the ways I missed the mark,

for the ways I got off track.

Help me release my concerns, fears, and worries,

to let go of that which remains unfinished,
to put it away,

to say goodbye to this week of my life.

Help me to close this week in peace.

Help me to turn now and enter holy time and space,
to enter the gate of Shabbat.

May I enter into Shabbat and
refresh my spirit, renew my soul,

feel, and honor, and care for myself,
refill and replenish,
deepen my relations with dear ones and the created world,
be with You, my Source,

and taste the sweetness of this world and of the world to come.

Widen my heart to receive Shabbat light.

Open my soul to welcome and embrace
my Neshama Yetirah.
